A presentation on the proposed Sunflower Road Trail will be discussed during this meeting. The trail is part of a broader initiative to enhance non-vehicle transportation routes throughout the city, focusing on linking under-served and low-income areas to key community points such as Lexington Lake Park, De Soto Schools, and the downtown district.
Key highlights of the project include:
- Phase 1: A 1.5-mile asphalt trail extending from 103rd Street to 91st Street.
- The project is funded through a $1,059,928 grant from the Transportation Alternatives Program, with De Soto contributing 20% of the cost.
