Private Sewage Disposal Information (Septic Systems)

The City of De Soto has adopted the 2006 International Private Sewage Disposal Code (IPSDC), as amended, by Ord. # 2178. The Department of Building Inspections is responsible for the issuance, permittinng and inspection of all new and repair permits for Private Wastewater Systems
in the City of De Soto.

All new private wastewater systems and many drainfield system repairs require a soil test to determine the resulting assignment of soil acceptance rates, following accepted KDHE guidelines, before a permit or construction or repair will be issued.
